Description

"A Whirlwind of Change" is the first movie resulting from a 3 year partnership between Renault, the Number One French car maker and Europacorp the Number One French film studio to launch the new Renault electric cars.This unseen association is born out of common values and mutual will to contribute to the emergence of a new long lasting mobility in a world more respectful towards the planet. The movie is inspired by the butterfly effect. Here, the start of the car shakes the town and triggers an epic chase throughout the city. The main characters of the story are a bee and two pigeons but obviously Renault electric cars are very present.

It is not only about a product appearance in the movie. Cars naturally fit into the story, as instigators of the change, changing the town when they drive through.

Execution

It was revealed for the first time during a wonderful pre-show of Arthur 3 dedicated to children. They went out of the movie full of wonder regarding the story of Paris which changes thanks to this new generation of cars. The movie was then launched at the international car exhibition 2010 where it was distributed in a specially adapted 3D room during the whole event which Carlos Ghosn and Luc Besson inaugurated together on September 30th.

Since the end of November 2010, the movie started its international distribution. "A whirlwind of change" was released in various European countries, among them United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Turkey and Morocco. It has been aired in France off-screen advertising since December 22nd, in the Gaumont Pathé theaters just preceeding 3D blockbusters such as Narnia, Raiponce, Megamind and Tron.

Outcome

"A Whirlwind of Change" has been conceived to be released in 3D during the pre-shows preceding blockbusters in movie theatres. The movie distribution results were very positive for the brand. In France, the film was seen by 750 000 people in a month and is considered to be very memorable.
