Execution
The antarctic is a very important habitat for a lot of species of animals and plants. Due to climate change these are seriously endangered. We wanted to express that the endangered species are not able to live in any different habitat.
Thus we used model penguins to represent all of the species existing in the region of the South Pole and placed them in supermarket freezers. To their neck we attached a sign saying: "It’s getting a bit cramped at the South Pole. Global warming is destroying his natural habitat. Help us to save the South Pole".
Outcome
People were very surprised by the sight of the model penguins and were made aware of the problem. The BMU noticed an increased number of visitors on its web page who where especially interested in climate change. Also there was an increased number of donations.
