Our radio campaign is the result of a social experiment where we enquired about listed-accommodation using a black applicant, then within an hour later, called using a white applicant. When the black applicant called, it was not available BUT when the white applicant called, it was. We documented these conversations as an exercise to prove that racism was still alive in South Africa and that the Zirra App funded by the Kathrada Foundation, could help fight this behaviour by exposing and dealing with these incidents.
