Background
Situation: Illuminate how new service can help customers find immediate deals for travel.
Brief: Illuminate how the popular travel service helps would-be voyagers overcome real-life barriers to embark on emotional journeys to discover meaningful travel experiences.
Objectives: Functionality of App, Showcase meaningful / beautiful destinations.
Execution
Expedia gave the DP and I a lot of leeway to set the grade. We wanted to give the commercial a really rich look, almost as if it were a film print. Film has color everywhere (even in the whites) so we tried to replicate that feeling throughout. While the grade is warm, we added small touches of color everywhere (green in the highlights, etc). We were able to create a really moody feel, and also spent a lot of time on the face and detail to bring that back up once the density of the overall grade was set. We were both really pleased with the finished product, which was shot digitally, but feels a lot more akin to film.
