Background
Gen Z are spending more time hanging out at home with friends than they are going out.
We wanted to align Doritos with the ‘Night In’ occasion making us the go-to snack for sharing.
The challenge was simple - use the brand personality of bold inhibition to persuade Gen Z that Doritos are the snack to unlock a more exciting time with friends.
Execution
This film used a clever combination of live-action and photorealistic CGI. The 3 actors were shot for real using tracking markers for where the heads would be replaced. The 3 characters (Gecko, Bear and Goat) were designed up-front and carefully modelled, animated, lit and rendered.
The technical process of camera and head tracking, plus seamless compositing ensured that the CGI and live-action were combined perfectly to provide a photo-realistic result!
