Description

'Fight To Breathe' aims to raise awareness of life with cystic fibrosis.

In the 60 - second advertisement cinema-goers are invited to replicate the breathing patterns of Edelle Collins, who has cystic fibrosis in real life.

In the piece you hear the recorded breathing pattern of Edelle, recorded on a normal day in her life.

To begin we are asked to take park in a breathing exercise and to inhale and exhale in time with Edelle's breaths. The screen is black as she we are instructed to inhale and a smoke like vapour fills the screen and indicates the exhale.

The 60-second advertisement centres on the theme "Fight to Breathe" and we are reminded of this at the end of the exercise. The piece graphically illustrates how life for Edelle is a constant battle as she has to fight for her every breath.
