Background

FIGR is a new cannabis brand that was set to launch in Canada on October 17, the day of legalization across the country. We were tasked with creating business cards are part of a larger brand identity system for the brand. As a start-up company and not one of the big players in the category the budget was fairly small but their desire to breakthrough and be remembered was high.

Idea

Business cards are often torn into thin strips and used as filters as an inexpensive alternative to the real thing and placed within the rolling paper while assembling a marijuana cigarette. This insight lead to the idea of turning our client’s business cards into a functional product to help users enjoy their product.

Execution

The business cards were designed so that the perforated strips could be torn off of the card while leaving all the important information on a remaining surface being a square. The same shape as our client’s logo.

Outcome

The clients were thoroughly impressed by the ingenuity of the design and has lead to increased design engagements with us and are well received every time a card is given out. The nature of the business card works as a natural ice breaker for new contacts.
