The film season consisted of films equivalent to Desert Island Discs. The director captured the feeling of films that have a personal meaning and the production was enhanced by securing the talents of Paddy Considine and Vicki McClure who brought pathos to their roles. This extended cut was seen briefly on TV but was promoted heavily on the Film4 website as the cornerstone of the season. As well as helping to reinforce the channel's brand, the season saw ratings rising across the majority of time slots, daytime and evening.
