Background

As Japan's diet becomes more Westernized, the younger generation is gradually moving away from traditional Japanese food, such as sushi. To reach out to the younger generation to increase the awareness of Gin no Sara, a home delivery sushi service, they decided to promote their brand modestly using their favorite social media platforms, Tik Tok and YouTube. We tried not to brag about ourselves too much so kept it low-key, just a little bit.

Execution

A doubles team playing table tennis with synchronized moves accidentally hits a sharp ball into one player's mouth. Strangely, the ball comes out of the other player's mouth, and they continue playing without any interruption. They appear to be more synchronized than you think. And, sushi from Gin no Sara tastes even better than you think.

Outcome

Movies were organically shared mainly on Tik Tok and YouTube. Despite having zero media spent, Gin no Sara's official Tik Tok account has been viewed over 16 million times in total, and it has become a hot topic among the younger generation. They were able to instill the awareness of Gin no Sara and contribute to boost sales of Gin no Sara.
