Description
We designed a visual theme that featured a black cat – synonymous with bad luck – adorned with good luck charms. The scratchboard style illustrations mixed with hand-drawn typography gave the design a gritty feel that complimented Tarantuela's Blues/Rock genre.
Execution
To stand out, we designed an album that could literally stand up – when turned on its side and opened, the black cat appears to arch its back at you.
Outcome
1000 CDs were printed and distributed through Warner for in-store sales, plus the album art featured on iTunes.
