Description
By using only sounds recorded and experienced in a working coal mine, we were asked to create a sound design track that fitted the rhythm of the edit, whilst conveying the tense atmosphere and cacophony of sounds familiar to working underground.Because the visuals were never cut to a musical tempo, building a rhythm track with only real sounds was something that required great deal of time and effort.
By using elements such a the mines ore crusher as a kick drum, rubble movement as a snare and keeping a rhythmic tempo with water drops and miners hammer hits this build a musical/sound design track that works along side the picture to convey the tension and unpredictability of working underground hence promoting the show.
