The IKEA global site is a version of the Modular site - the new web network that is being rolled out to IKEA retailers worldwide. The vision for the Modular site is an integrated network of sites that share a common architecture, interface and design and draw content from a shared library. Retailers create customized and localized site versions by selecting components from the library, as appropriate to their capabilities and objectives.The global site functions as an IKEA corporte site, but also serves retailers who have not yet developed a local Modular site. Its goal is to communicate to a worldwide audience of consumers, employees, the press and suppliers.The Modular site network reinforces the IKEA concept, drives traffic and sales and increases involvement with the brand. The site provides an IKEA experience that is consistent with all other marketing, advertising and retail channels by paying off the positioning "affordable solutions for better living" and by reflecting the functional-yet-fun personality of the brand.The rich site content delivers the positioning by presenting the IKEA offer - knowledge and product - in a way that reflects IKEA's partnering approach with consumers. An innovative product presentation provides an overview of IKEA's vast range, while engaging interactive tools support decision-making for home and office needs.
