Execution

The spectacular ice figures made it impossible for the Berliners to continue to ignore the topic of homelessness. How it felt to be homeless in the winter was made apparent at first glance. Apparently, the ice figures had a greater effect on the passers-by than everyday reality.

Outcome

Three local television stations and several of the capital’s newspapers reported on the event.

Within the first week, the Berliners donated over €100,000. No homeless person died of exposure to the cold this Winter.
