Description

For the TV spot, we wanted to focus on the actual user by creating a simple, humorous demonstration of the HP ProLiant's 'virtual presence and control' feature. More and more senior IT people are operating remotely, managing multiple sites and implementing solutions globally across their extensive networks. We wanted to show HP as a trusted partner who understands the challenges faced by this target and who thus designs intelligent products to help. By giving IT the ability to control their servers from any pocket PC, HP sets them free and lets them 'Take their servers with them'.

Outcome

The spot ran across North and South America, Europe and Asia, helping HP in FY 2003 to sell a record-breaking number of HP ProLiant servers worldwide. Recent IDC data shows that the continued strong sales of HP's ProLiant line over the last two years helped drive HP overall server segment growth, allowing HP to continue its number one position for worldwide server shipments for the seventh consecutive quarter.
