Description
In an age where kids are drawn by media and video games, let's remind them of the pure, creative fun that can be had playing with Play-Doh.
The idea: to stir the imagination of kids and their parents by placing giant Play-Doh containers as a metaphor, substituting or sitting alongside real-world objects that fascinate kids to remind them that anything can be made with Play-Doh.
The venues included parks, museums and other child-friendly attractions near Walmart stores.
In true retail fashion, the product carried a label reading: "Available at Walmart. Actual size is not the same as illustrated".
Execution
A large scale Play-Doh container 16 feet tall by 14 feet wide container was built and toured the city surprising kids and parents alike. Our three dimensional large scale product was placed in public spaces with heavy traffic of children and their families.
Venues:
- "Brothers Suarez Circus" main stage (Circus Act )
- Children Museum at Carolina Municipality, Near SJU International Airport (Airplane)
- Children Museum at Municipality of Bayamón (Rocket).
Outcome
We re-ignited our brand, adding much-needed excitement to an old-school product that was steadily losing ground to newer forms of family entertainment.
A total of 209,800 persons were reached monthly on site during the effort and additional impressions were generated in social platforms as people shared their photos for a total of 160,000 impressions.
While the campaign has just begun, initial reports from Walmart Stores have already shown renewed interest on our product.
