Background
Situation:A woman comes home to find herself alone on her birthday. To her surprise, all of her friends organised an extravagant birthday party. But the biggest surprise is something different: she’s a vampire. And everybody else, too.
Brief: "Grace Jones meets Studio54 meets FKA Twigs (and a pinch of Jodorowsky)" Objectives: Create a film that reflects the style of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, and a character with its power and longevity. Make it flashy too.
Idea
The creative idea was to create something epic, fresh and exciting - and with a script like no other, at least in the world of automotive advertising. The idea was to create a story world with the energy that Studio54 had in its time - positive, life-affirming, creative, fantastic, mind-bending, vivid and eclectic - but rough and gritty around the edges.
Strategy
We casted the lead with up and coming RnB recording artist RiMon - with supporting characters who have been a hit in past commercial work; namely Radouan Leflahi. The rap that starts the film was authored by Iranian hip hop producer Mahdyar Aghajani.
Execution
Immortal Love was filmed early October '21 in Kyiv, Ukraine - a city that could capture the intensity and culture of the epic underground Eastern European rave, with a world-class service production company, too.
Outcome
The film, released on Valentine's Day, has reached 175k views and has been celebrated mostly for its aesthetic and music.
