Description

IntelliCUP is a fully integrated PCT patented beverage dispensing system.

• It comprises a modular dispensing unit that can be linked to any chiller system and kegged product - the IntelliHead.

• This units settings are controlled via the IntelliHub (a web based management portal) which also provides Merchant data – measuring the number of cups docked and per ml beverage flow which can be equated to money in the merchants account for auditing.

• IntelliApp is the customer interface providing a cloud based pre-paid wallet and cup scanning function, allowing the customer to fund a wallet via various payment gateways and link a cup via a NFC tag in the base of the “IntelliCup” to this wallet for seamless cashless beverage dispensing.

• App usage then provides customer stats in terms of geo location, usage, beverage preference and provides an opportunity to communicate to the customer directly.

Execution

The IntelliCup system includes the following key components:

• A modular IntelliHead with NFC reader, programmable washable cup docking station, a bottom fill injector nozzle, a bespoke PCB with remote update software as well as temperature sensors, flow meter and geo location sensor.

• A reusable IntelliCup (20 plus uses) with a non-return valve and 25 mm rewritable NFC chip with unique Account in the base.

• The IntelliHUB used by a merchant to set his beverage descriptor, age setting, beverage pour volume and price – and track/audit his data

• A customer would download the IntelliApp and fund his account and via scanning the NFC or QR code on the chip link the cup to his own cloud based account

• By docking the IntelliCup the NFC communicates via the Intellihead to the Cloud based server and checks the age verification, it then reserves the funds, sends a message back to the IntelliHead to dispense the beverage. On a successful pour (against the volume setting) the funds are transferred to the vendor and the customer account debited. All in a total time of less than 12 seconds per pour.

Live commercial trials in the USA from 23 May 2018.

Outcome

• IntelliCup has the opportunity to disrupt the existing attempts to increase the speed of pour and enhance profitability. People have been chasing speed of pour, but no one has focussed on the combination of “quality and speed” as well as merchant and customer enhancement.

• Unit price is the same as an upmarket draught beer pull and furthermore offers a data set that no other liquor delivery service currently offers. It is easily retrofitted into existing cold chains or given its size made into mobile solutions

• Given that Draught beer services are notoriously unprofitable, but remain the least expensive method of beer delivery, IntelliCup serves to provide an easy accessible solution that in turn supports environmental responsibility through its cup usage and reduction in waste overall.

• The system has been trialed at a number of events in South Africa in test and commercial venues.
