Description
We created a mailing targeted directly at IT Managers. It was packaged as a software package or a PDA, engaging the recipients' curiosity. Inside the box was an envelope with letter and brochure. Below was a slide viewer containing 16 slides raising the question 'How does your company communicate?', and takes them through some of the benefits of VPN, as well as inviting them to the seminar. The last slides include information on how to register and contains a personalised password in order to respond. All response was channelled through the Internet, with a registration site resembling the physical mailing.
Outcome
58% of the recipients visited the site, proving the high degree of attention created by the mailing. 40% of these participated in the seminar, giving a total of 24% participation of the original recipients. Several of the attendees gave positive comments about the mailing, stating its innovative design and idea. After registering, each participant received a confirmation letter and programme for the seminar.
