Description
When the subject is that huge, we knew that ordinary advertising campaign wouldn't be enough to raise awareness around such a big social problem. So we decided to spark a movement and help women raise their voice. To achieve that we created a hashtag on social media as #JustTheWayWeWant. Fortunately, our hashtag was embraced by a huge number of millennial girls and helped them gather and organize a march for their freedom to live just the way they want.
Execution
We started the conversation by creating awareness about gender hate crime towards women by #JustTheWayWeWant hashtag. In two days time the hashtag was embraced by huge number of millennial girls and celebrities started to support this hashtag. With this support, a march was organized just in a day. For march, we created branded #JustTheWayWeWant materials such as t-shirts, bags, placards etc and in TV channels, we earned visibility through our "justthewaywewant" brand film. This was followed by organic pr coverage on TV, press and digital media.
Outcome
55.000 tweets in two days and became Trending Topic.
And our hashtag had reached above 45 million people.
Organic PR coverage was huge both on TV, digital media and press with total of 1,800,000 reach. Photos of the march were entered as stock images in Shutterstock.
Sunsilk we gave voice to women, not only Turkey but also international media heard the voice of Turkish women.
