Background

Lack Of Period Education in adolescent girls is deep rooted in Indian culture. No women, especially in the fringe states of India, talk about this, leaving adolescent girls uneducated and underprepared for menstruation or menstrual health management (MHM). This leaves 23 million girls unable to keep up with school, and eventually dropping out.

While adoption of sanitary napkins remained low, it became imperative to reach the girls and stop this drop-out cycle.

The objective then became twofold:

1. Create effective solution platforms that aids girls to stay in school – scale solutions

2. Make social impact deliver business impact at scale

This led to creating Whisper’s Keep Girls in School program, which reaches girls on a grass-roots level to create social change.
