The client asked the Agency for a promotion idea for the 'Ambiente' fair in Frankfurt, Germany's most important specialist fair for consumer goods. The idea was to draw visitors' attention to WMF products while they were still in their hotels. To this end, Frankfurt hotels were equipped with shower curtains that showed one of the best known scenes in film history: Norman Bates furtively lurking behind the curtain with a knife in his hand. This is a surprising and entertaining way to show that WMF knives are suitable for every purpose for which especially sharp knives are required.
Outcome
Almost every visitor spoke to staff on the WMF stand about the promotion. Many were so delighted by the idea that they left their addresses in order to have their sample of the shower curtain sent to their home.
