Description
We imagined a world in which there are no more gentlemen, showing the extreme consequence of this disappearance: a society in which the elegance is gone. Even for women.
The line "a world without gentlemen is a world without ladies" is an invitation to all men to continue to seek elegance every day. And to save the world from vulgarity.
Execution
The music theme is "Bella figlia dell'Amore" ("beautiful daughter of Love") from Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto.
This famous composition of Verdi is a hymn to the beauty and femininity of women, which creates a provocative and ironic contrast with what you see in the film.
In our scene, in which women appear completely devoid of grace and charm, the opera becomes a kind of invitation to recover the lost elegance.
And, at the same time, it sounds like a sarcastic reflection about what we're seeing.
