Background

The Japanese leather material which is carefully produced in a natural way from a soft and gentle raw hide that is indigenous to the nation. A great skill of leather craftsmen who can beautifully change the material with high quality to various products. We attempt to convey the appeal of the Japanese leather to encourage this traditional industry and ensure transmission of skills and techniques to future generations while exploring the possibility of the Japanese leather by an innovative

Idea

One in ten Japanese people has metal allergy nowadays.

Strategy

Since the traditional material and techniques were developed fashionably by the daring idea, “Leather Made Jewelry” has been featured in a web news of FIGARO JAPON and also overtaken by a newspaper called Senken Shinbun, specializes in fashion business.The accessories were displayed in central Tokyo at Daikanyama T-SITE, DAIKANYAMA TSUTAYA BOOKS for 7 days where over 100,000 people visit for a week. We achieved to future generations by an innovative idea and to find out the possibilities that are still hidden in the Japanese leather material.

Execution

We created “Leather Made Jewelry” such as a delicate chain and ring as accessories, which can be worn by even a person having a metal allergy, made out of the Japanese leather that is soft and durable, based on the craftsmen’s experience and technical expertise. We designed the accessories in a chic and alternative style to be used universally and safely for everyone.
