In this film two characters, an older man and a younger woman, share their positions on the core political issues of our times. One is conservative, the other is liberal. They are diametrically opposed on every issue. But, as we discover in the end, they are actually a father and daughter who love each other in spite of their differences and that 'live sports' provide a vehicle for them to be together and exercise the fundamental love for one another through this Common Ground.
