Description

How do you make a new mobile phone part of a space war blockbuster film that's ready for release? Our approach was to put their consumer product in a completely new cinematic story, that introduced elements of the film's fantastic alien world, and used their product to navigate the space. This approach allowed us to create a totally unique piece of creative that combined two worlds ... where anything can happen, and does!

Execution

We didn't have much time; just 3 weeks from storyboards to placement in cinema. We shot the entire piece in 1 day in a California desert, caught the red eye back to NYC, and had the first rough cut done 2 days later.  Our visual effects team worked around the clock to recreate the surroundings seen in the film, including total sky replacement and CGI spaceships whizzing overhead.  Working smart and fast, we were able to very quickly get this amazing work into cinema in time to promote both the launch of the product, and the release of the film, giving two exceptional brands an amazing audience to speak to, with a relevant timely piece of innovative content.

Outcome

The outcome was extension across more than 14,000 movie screens for four weeks with organic content, endemic to theaters, in front of tens of millions of moviegoers. In fact, it was so appreciated by the brand, this piece was extended to their digital billboards in both NYC and internationally ... that's pretty impactful!
