Description

To prove that anyone can save a life, Polish Red Cross decided to teach first-aid to people, who seem least qualified to save lives - convicted murderers. We provided courses in prisons for convicts that are about to finish their sentences. We recorded a moving documentary from the courses, that became a hot topic for discussions in prime time television, radio and national news portals.

Execution

After initial distrust from the prison system the experimental courses were accepted and successfully implemented, though making a video material proved to be very difficult due to the security reasons - ultimately it was recorded by a small crew comprised of only three people (director who also did the sound, camera operator and the focus-puller). The video was then used mainly as a PR talking point and sent to the mass media to gain the scale.

Outcome

The documentary became a talking point in the mass media such as "Dwie Prawdy” series on TVN - 300.000 viewers, Gazeta.pl main news (36,61% nation reach, 8,712,597 real users monthly) and many others, which translated into 50% more submissions for Polish Red Cross.
