We open on a couple relaxed in each other’s company laying in bed. They link hands, the husband strokes his wife’s arm to comfort her and they pull each other closer. The title ‘A lover with cancer is still a lover’ fades in as the husband supports his wife. We then cut to a series of very quick shots that portray the couple’s struggle with the wife’s cancer diagnosis. We can see the strain in their relationship as they struggle to come to terms with the prognosis. This section of the film is punctuated by medical sounds and the voice of husband’s as he speaks to his wife. It finishes on the couple sat with a Macmillan nurse helping provide practical support. We finish back in the original scene with the husband telling his wife he loves her.
