Pasha, a handcuffed criminal escapes from prison. He comes to a farmhouse where an old man prepares to chop off Pasha's handcuffs using a sharp axe. The old man takes aim but just before he delivers the deadly blow, the bulb burns out. All we hear in the pitch darkness is a thud and Pasha screaming out - the blow has landed on his hands.
