The brief for the IBM Linux sitelet was to express both the visionary and practical aspects of the Linux operating system. Information on its history, explosive growth, and successful implementations was included to achieve the objective of building a case with business decision makers to consider adopting Linux. Picking up from the visionary feeling of the general advertising, the sitelet provides an immersive experience that helps users appreciate the importance of the open source movement. It also includes an open invitation for users to tell IBM their thoughts on Linux, with the best submissions becoming part of the site.
