Description
Managing Multiple Sclerosis Mind and Body (Managing MS) is a custom microsite within Everyday Health that is sponsored by Tecfidera. Managing MS is a comprehensive destination for MS patients which provides accessible, research-based information as well as inspiration for MS patients to champion their disease and live a full live with MS. The microsite includes a Patient Education Center, a 'Champions of MS' video series and a Tecfidera Sponsored Video Center. The challenge was to develop an engaging destination which would encourage MS patients to re-evaluate current treatment. The objective of Managing MS was to elicit patients to consider Tecfidera, a new blockbuster treatment changing the MS landscape. Strategically, content was created with patients' needs in mind, covering topics specifically of interest to MS patients while incorporating branded content. The deep microsite launched in early January and continues to evolve, incorporating fresh content when available, maintaining the relevance and appeal. Currently, unique visitors are spending ample time within the microsite, indicating engagement and ultimately success. Long-term outcomes will be measured by an IMS prescription analysis.
Execution
Managing MS launched in early January and continues to evolve, incorporating fresh content when available, maintaining the relevance and appeal. Kick off calls were initiated in Q4 2013, at which point Everyday Health Studios developed original editorial and video content. Tecfidera hosted a longform, live broadcast upon launch in 2013. GSW, Tecfidera's creative AOR in 2013, creatively repurposed content into snackable, informative vignettes. Managing MS is entirely original, custom content. All custom content was extensively reviewed, both internally and by Biogen Idec PRC.
Outcome
Currently, unique visitors are spending ample time within the microsite, indicating engagement and ultimately success. Long-term outcomes will be measured by an IMS prescription analysis in August 2014. This IMS analysis will also incorporate a component that attributes new Tecfidera prescriptions written to physicians' exposure to Medpage Today, a professional destiantion owned by Everyday Health.
