Set in a Blade Runner-esque, future world, The Mill helped launch one of the most hotly anticipated computer games of 2012 with this dark, gritty and dramatic new promo for EA Games’ Mass Effect 3. The spot welcomes the Reapers back to Earth for one final dramatic outing in the games trilogy's series, where they set about wreaking havoc and mass destruction across the planet. The 60 second spot is an epic, cinematic film which called on a range of VFX skills to add scope and scale beyond what was possible to shoot in-camera on set. From matte paintings of destroyed cities, to CG space ships and buildings which are sent tumbling to the ground; battles with Aliens and even the collapse of a CG Golden Gate Bridge - all of which needed to stay faithful to the world of the game itself.This mini sci-fi epic contains approximately 60 VFX shots and a dozen matte shots, and was also given an atmospheric final grade.
