Direct mailing of blank Xmas tree ornaments, paints and a covering letter enabled us to actively engage our clients. They were keen to take part in that activity, knowing that it would help Polish orphans. The picture of MEC Poland’s Xmas tree decorated with clients’ painted ornaments was published in the trade press. Our creative idea engaged clients in a totally different way to our competitors, who flooded clients desks with hundreds of Xmas cards.

Outcome

We managed to cut through the clutter of Xmas card “madness” and demonstrate Active Engagement. A massive 70% of our clients responded by sending back painted ornaments. We received very positive feedback– “the only Xmas activity we remembered” and our clients now have a better understanding our way of working.
