Description
In a beautiful modern kitchen a woman is baking. She tends to apples caramelizing on the stove. Behind her the counter is covered with remnants of baking; cracked eggs, sugar, and cut apples. The woman turns and reaches for a whisk on the counter. She accidentally knocks over a jar of milk. The milk cascades across the counter. It flows by a working stand mixer, through eggshells, sugar, and past cut apples. The woman gasps as the precious milk streams by. The milk reaches the counter’s edge and a single drop descends over. As she witnesses this, a single tear slowly falls down her face. The woman is literally and beautifully crying over spilled milk. As in the well-worn English idiom “don’t cry over spilled milk” meaning “don’t get upset over a past mistake that can’t be changed.” The milk then pools in a puddle on the floor and a housecat laps up the spilled milk. The overturned bottle of Organic Meadow milk sits on the counter.
