Description
The Million Meals Program kicked off at our 15th birthday celebration in March where Salesforce, the Salesforce Foundation and our employees came together with the broader San Francisco community to package 15,000 meals and collect 15,000 pounds of food to help feed the hungry. This sprit of giving back continued throughout the year at our Salesforce World Tour where we helped deliver tens of thousands of meals in more than 20 cities around the world. The effort was capped off at Dreamforce ’14, the world’s largest software event, where attendees helped raise a record 3 million meals that were distributed globally, through 11 different food bank partners.
Outcome
The results: volunteers at our 15-year birthday celebration sorted and assembled 75,000 meals. Attendees at more than 20 events delivered tens of thousands of more meals, Dreamforce 14 attendees raised a total of 1,012,048 meals through their donations that were then matched by both Marc Benioff and Tony Robbins, bringing the total to more than 3 million meals donated.
