Description
The insight became the central theme and message of the campaign: Swissquote brings finance right up to date. Implementation was correspondingly future-oriented: instead of heroes from the past, modern-day visionaries point the way to the modern world of finance. For instance, the dollar bills and pound bills now portray successful pioneers like Mark Zuckerberg and Richard Branson respectively instead of Benjamin Franklin and Queen Elizabeth II.
Execution
Illustrations on banknotes do not have uniform structures. For security reasons, the patterns vary slightly and are not repeated; the lines in the background do not follow any particular pattern either. In addition, it is not possible to scan bills using commercially available software, making simple image processing or rendering impossible. Every single subject, i.e. banknote, was thus drawn by hand. This applies to both the illustrations of the characters and the transition to the rest of the bill.
Outcome
The outdoor posters and dynamic billboards were mounted at the mainstation of Zurich (33 poster locations) and at another nine locations in the city of Zurich for nine days. The posters achieved more than 4 million contacts (about 437.000 people use the mainstation on a daily basis. With 33 poster locations, hardly no one leaved the mainstation without having seen the posters). Furthermore, the outdoor posters have been awarded with an Epica award last year (bronze).
