Description

The exhibition "Hidden Heroes - The genius of everyday things“ of the Vitra Design Museum in cooperation with Hi-Cone is devoted to the history and stories behind everyday objects, from files through to folding metre sticks. The website designed parallel to this presents a new, media-oriented interface for an exhibition on the internet, continuing the experience of space with surprising alternation of 2-D and 3-D.

Execution

A site that makes visitors feel as if they are visiting an exhibition. The fascinating navigation is used to impart interesting facts and stories about the various heroes. The 2D preview and a detailed view of a 3D room symbolises the difference between the perception and success of the particular exhibit. Furthermore, visitors can also add their own contributions to the exhibition and suggest further exhibits.

Outcome

The site has been celebrated by the press, and has won numerous international awards. It is a topic of discussion on various forums all over the world, and has already been visited by 130,000 users from 159 countries.
