Background
In Thai society, it is very common for people to criticize moms of children who misbehave in public on social media because they are simply too afraid to confront the moms in real life. There is even a Facebook page called “Look Khun Mai Dai Naruk Sumlhab TookKon (Your kid isn’t adorable)” with 300,000 followers that cyberbullies moms. The root cause of the criticism comes from people’s neglect of moms’ side of the story.
Based on moms’ insight, we know that moms love their kids and want them to become good people. However, every mom has different ways of protecting, raising, teaching and loving her children. Babi Mild, a brand for moms and kids, wants to liberate all moms from these unfair criticisms. Thus, they create a seemingly-real and thought-provoking film to show Babi Mild’s stance that they understand all moms and are on their side.
Execution
The film shows moms in a situation where their kids are misbehaving in public and ends with a surprising twist. It begins by showing footage that is taken from a hidden camera to represent the realness of the situation. The footage shows kids beginning to cry, disturbing the public and drawing attention to themselves. A series of online comments and posts follow to show how the public criticizes moms on social media. The footage of moms and kids resume showing how moms try to discipline their kids, followed by comments criticizing the way these moms teach discipline. Lastly, a message from the brand pops up saying that although society often misjudges moms, Babi Mild understands and supports them. As a brand for moms and kids, Babi Mild is offering daily encouragement to every mom.
