Background

No Molestar! (Do not Disturb! in English) is an animation block on FOX Channel Latin America. It was launched in 2005 and it's known as the home of The Simpsons, presenting six episodes of Matt Groening's series every single day. The block has its own look & feel and tone of voice. People know that will find irreverent and absurd animations and quotes on the commercial break. But after the acquisition of FOX Channel, the network was rebranded to STAR Channel. And we had to decide what to do with No Molestar!. Our decision was obvious: let's keep the block. But how could we do it?

Idea

We came up with a disruptive concept to create and keep the identity of No Molestar! in its new network. In a multiverse world, the block can exist in different channels. FOX Channel? Yes! And what about STAR Channel? Sure! So we created No Molestar! Multiverso and a custom typography. In our multiverse world the only guidelines for the brand are the tone of voice and the typography.

Our target is the ultimate fan of The Simpsons in Latin America. And The Simpsons is a religion in the region. So they expect the same kind of humor and way of life in No Molestar! communication. The new brand was a breeze of fresh air in the middle of the chaos of the commercial break.

Execution

We created a series of elements for the block on STAR Channel using different animation techniques: 3D, 2D and collage. The whole concept of the multiverse branding is that we could be random in our design decisions but not in our tone of voice (fun and absurd).

We animated the logo, open block and idents for the block. No Molestar! is aired in STAR Channel everyday from 8PM to 9PM so variety is very important for us.

Outcome

Keeping No Molestar! with this new multiverse concept helped our transition from FOX Channel to STAR Channel. We know that a change can be hard and FOX was a top of mind brand in Latin America. No Molestar! made our fans feel more comfortable with the rebranded and helped STAR Channel to gain awareness.
