Description

We installed a replica of a Syrian house in the middle of a subway station. Once inside the room, a motion sensor triggered an explosion via a screen simulating a window, making people experience a blast, as if they were there, as if they were at a place that is actually very far from them.

Execution

After months of research, we recreated a typical Syrian house in the middle of a subway station. At the very same time the UN was debating the refugees issue, people who passed by this installation could experience what it was like to live in Syria right now, and feel closer to the problem. The activation was extended for a week more. Even the gobernor of Buenos Aires visited the Syrian house.

Outcome

Amnesty Argentina members tripled from 7 to 21 new members per day. Media from all over the world covered the news, generating millions of dollars in earned media. Argentine Foreing Ministry commited to receive 3,000 syrian refugees.
