Description
9.5 million die in India every year. In other words, India creates 9.5 million potential eye donors every year.Of these only a measly 20,000 donate their eyes!The objective was to increase this number so that some of India's 3 million corneally blind can see again.
The solution: We created a video of blind school children playing Holi- an Indian festival of colours.In about 10 weeks, this has yielded record hits (for an Indian video) on Youtube, led to a spurt in online eye donations on www.ebai.org, created huge awareness through blogs and newspapers (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/NEWS/Cities/Mumbai/Film-makers_set_their_sights_on_eye_donation/articleshow/1780979.cms)and earned commendations from WHO and the European Eye Bank Association.
