Description

With just a simple comment on Facebook Live someone could start up a Honda CBR 1000 live. And whoever did won it. REPSOL PASSWORD combined the real world with the virtual one to give away a Honda CBR 1000 to the first person to write a comment with the password that remotely started it up (from home or a Smartphone) without any human intervention.

To get the password, users had to answer a series of questions. By joining characters from these answers they could form the unique password that started up the motorbike. A live event (Facebook Live) that lasted for over an hour where users wrote their password and checked if it started up the motorbike. The first person to write the correct password was the winner.

Execution

The action lasted for two weeks: the first was a warm up and the second for the action. On the last day of the second week the action culminated, giving away the motorbike in a live event (Facebook Live) which lasted over an hour of participation.

In this live event we gave away a motorbike, a Honda CBR 1000 valued at over €20,000 through a social media channel, Facebook Live, which amplified the promotion, making it into an event which was a mix of the real world and the virtual one where users were exposed to the brand for over an hour, the time it took the winner to guess the correct password that started up the motorbike. Users could participate from anywhere (their home, their Smartphone …)

Outcome

A reach of over 7.3 million users.

An increase of 4,600% of new users on the Facebook profile compared to the previous year. (This year, 12,000 new fans in just two weeks. Last year, in the same period there was an increase of only 262 followers).

Over an hour of exposure to the brand to a young audience (68% of users who connected were aged between 18 and 34 years old).

A very positive feeling to the promotion on social media.
