Description

Old, printed family photos are among the prized possessions of most people. Despite this, our old photos are often left storage boxes, vulnerable to floods, fires or worse. Using authentic photos shot over the last 75 years, our video reminds the audience how wonderful these captured memories are, how easily they could be lost, and how difficult they are to make digital. Then, it solves the problem by introducing a new app that puts high-resolution, glare-free scanning capabilities in everyone’s pocket.

Execution

The video was created using real photos shot over the last 75 years and then edited and treated as artifacts. These photos were sourced from dozens of people’s personal collections, and selected for authenticity, composition, and their ability to evoke a universal feeling in the viewer (no matter who they were) of what it feels like to go through old photos. We wanted to make a demo video that was relatable but entertaining, so we use the VO and the visuals as two characters, the VO sometimes reacting to the visuals or being surprised by them.
