IKEA believe that children are the most important people in the world, and specifically design products and solutions to bring adults and children together. When it comes to dinner parties, they believe children should be encouraged to cook, dine and entertain with the grown-ups. Since Victorian times, Brits have felt somewhat differently. We don't think children should be 'seen and not heard', but we're still big fans of splitting the group into the grown-up's table and the children's table. "Playin' with my friends" was created to show this needn't be the case. Rather, the best parties (and behaviour) happen when adults and children are sat around the same table. To inspire people to keep everyone together this party season, we brought this insight to life through the imagination of our little girl. Seeing the party through her eyes, the adults are transformed into giant toys. We see the kids and grown-ups use IKEA products and solutions to create the perfect gathering they can all enjoy side by side. It's only when they all sit down together that the teddy bear, robot, action figure, doll and charismatic monkey are revealed to be the adults that they were all along.
