Description

Brazilians already spend a lot of time on social networks, so the solution to introduce literature into their lives was to find a way to create a new and meaningful experience in this environment.

Instead of developing a new space to compete with all the options that social networks offer, we decided to use this existing connection to our advantage, reframing people’s relation to the most used App in Brazil: WhatsApp.

That’s why we brought the books to their daily routine through WhatsApp.

We divided reputed writer’s books into small parts that could be read in only five minutes.

Each day, a new chapter is sent to the registered people’s smartphones.

Simple, fast, free. And without the need to create any new App or digital environment.

This is how Editora Capital (a book publishing company) found a way to connect people to literature and with its own brand everyday.

Execution

First, we built the website for the sign-ups with a system that made possible for us to convert the registered phone numbers into phone book files.

After that, all data was synchronized with our main phone and the transmission lists (a native WhatsApp technology resource) were created with all the new users.

Then, the books started to be sent orderly by the morning.

Currently, more than 30 thousand messages are sent every day.

Outcome

Less than two weeks, Pocket Reading reached the number of 30 thousand registered users.

Pocket Reading became a huge success on the main media (TVs, Radios, Newspapers, Magazines) and also on specialized publications, nationally and internationally.

Besides the public’s immediate feedback, reputed Brazilian writers also participated in the project by offering us their books to be distributed without any costs.
