Description

About in 1 in 7 Canadians are affected by this family of over 100 diseases. The Arthritis Research Foundation works to raise funds for research into treatments and possible cures, for arthritis and associated autoimmune diseases. The Power of Movement, Canada’s largest yoga fundraising event, not only raises money for arthritis research, but also shows that yoga can bring increased mobility to arthritis sufferers as well.

To link these ideas, we crafted a 30 second spot featuring yogis arranged to resemble the bones of a hand, foot, and spine. The spot uses this as an artistic and stunning representation of the ties between yoga, arthritis and mobility. Each body part fades on screen to reveal the skeletal structure made up of influential yoga instructors from around Canada. With choreography by contemporary dancer Sahara Morimoto, the viewer actually sees that through doing yoga, parts of the body can regain movement. The accompanying supers explain how you can help those with arthritis simply by doing yoga. All of this is accompanied by the soothing music you would hear at a typical yoga studio.
