Description
To provoke and start conversation about high blood pressure, the "silent killer", and give colour and shape to this disease, we made an outdoor installation: RED BALL, the world's longest-running street art work created by Kurt Perschke, which was for the first time ever used in the service of public health. We used the symbolism of this project to illustrate the danger of high blood pressure, placing the installations across Serbia.
Execution
We used a red ball to give color and shape to the most common symptom of high blood pressure so people could detect it before it’s too late. We made outdoor installations all over the country - Red Balls, the world's longest-running street art work created by Kurt Perschke, which was for the first time ever used in the service of public health. We used the symbolism of this project to illustrate the danger of high blood pressure, placing the installations across Serbia.
Outcome
After placing installations all over the country, high blood pressure is recognized as a disease on a national level for the first time. 300 health institutions are equipped with new blood pressure monitors. April 21 was proclaimed National High Blood Pressure Awareness Day.
