Designed to look like an ordinary pad of lined notepaper, in actuality the blue lines contain the report’s key messaging, directs readers online for more detail and finally, inspires them to actively participate in the company’s conservation efforts with the message: “Please help conserve the environment by reusing this paper.” Ricoh’s more environmentally friendly notepads were distributed throughout the company and used by the sales force in promoting Ricoh’s environmental consciousness within the dealer network as well as with customers and suppliers.

Outcome

Response was overwhelmingly positive, actively involving Ricoh’s customers and 75,000+ employees in the company’s environmental efforts. Visits to ricoh.com/environment also increased significantly, providing an efficient way for Ricoh to discuss global environmental issues with more people around the world. Due to the success, Ricoh will now distribute the notepads at their Annual Dealer Meeting as well as to the 1,500 participants from over 47 countries during their sponsorship of the 2007 International Science and Engineering Fair.
