Description

It’s 1836, a pioneer convoy makes its way across the Oregon Trail. This section of the infamous trail is calm, endless long yellow grass illuminated by the clear blue sky.

Sitting boldly on the lead wagon is Jeff Bridges and his trusty driver.

Jeff takes in his surroundings before delivering a rousing speech about the choices we make in life.

Using his charm and wit, Jeff explains that if you choose to ride with the right people you’ll always end up in the right place, but, if you put your journey in the wrong hands, well, who knows what might happen.

As he delivers his philosophy, we see the rest of the convoy, Jeff’s friends and family, the things that hold significance.

Jeff closes by saying that it doesn’t matter if you’re going for pancakes or in search of a new life, what really matters is how you get there.

Execution

For Riding Shotgun we needed to cast a pioneer with integrity, honesty and authenticity, a believable cowboy who could be wise, wholesome and witty all at the same time.

Enter, Mr. Jeff Bridges.

With True Grit, Bad Company and Wild Bill under his oversized belt buckle, Jeff's Western repertoire is unmatched in modern film, not to mention the plethora of other roles he's played, including an Academy Award winning turn in Crazy Heart.

Jeff's lack of ego made him the best option to represent Lyft's core values, he's a Hollywood star who doesn't seek controversy, a family man who doesn't seem out of place in everyday situations, he's the kind of guy that when he says something, you believe it.

His steady hand, friendly gaze and revered skills made him a perfect Lyft spokesman, because if The Dude tells you to choose Lyft, you abide.
