Background

As the saying goes "but first, coffee." In no place in the world does that phrase have more meaning than at the epicenter of the Cuban cafecito tradition - Versailles Restaurant in Miami, FL. Since 1971, the Versailles ventanita is where Miamians native and indoctrinated have at one point or another enjoyed the sweet, turbo-fueled goodness of Cuban espresso, quickly brewed and doled out to residents in the area. In fact, la ventanita at Versailles Restaurant is legendary. It's where news reporters go to get a pulse on the community, where politicians are sure to make a stop when stumping in South Florida, and where the Cuban tradition of the Cuban colada or full espresso brew has been most emblematic to the world.

Outcome

No matter who you are - friend, foe or indifferent - if you are within a two-foot radius of a full colada of fresh Cuban espresso, you will be invited to stop what you're doing and partake in the stuff that fuels the energy of one of the most diverse, vibrant and fastest growing cities in the US.

This OOH campaign humorously depicts this local tradition through a custom illustration of different, slightly exaggerated scenarios featuring two seemingly opposed characters. It's a joyful homage to Miami and all its cafecito-loving residents from a brand that holds the community in its heart - Versailles Restaurant.
