Scientific American is the oldest continuously-published magazine in the nation. They needed to compete with the growing popularity of pop science, while maintaining its own depth and integrity. The goal of the site is to more effectively leverage prestige of brand and incredibly deep archives The topic driven architecture, open page layout, increased use of multimedia and clean look aims to attract and retain an audience that arrives via search and blogs and convert them into regular readers.
